Just a little something

A few weeks ago I announced that I was taking a class for Illustrator and Indesign both of which are Adobe products. These classes were for work however with the recent announcement that my sister is pregnant and a very close friend is getting married I thought I would take advantage of my new skills and offer up a service to create invitations!

I have had alot of fun purely experimenting and learning the software through trial and error. With my new found love for all things creative I had gone a little wild and created these for a friends wedding

Of course these are still a work in progress - Im thinking to myself not too bad Layman!

I went on to create a couple of designs for my wild and crazy sister. She is pregnant and just a few weeks away from finding out the sex of her baby. She has an edge to her and isn't afraid to think and live outside the box- hence the non "baby" factor to these invites.

None the less I have had a wonderful time merely playing around in these programs. Looking forward to more ideas and creations as I move forward.

Who knows maybe this is my calling?

Healthy Smiles!

Well I finally did it! About a month ago I jumped on the invisalign bandwagon and am taking steps to the teeth I've always wanted! Growing up poor you dont always get what you want but rather what you NEED so braces were definately not in the equation.

The program is quite simple- every two weeks I upgrade to a new tray. The tray slightly changes which puts pressure on your teeth.  The trays are to be worn at all times however the most movement is done within the first few hours of a new tray.

I tend to take mine out during meetings because they do tend to make me sound funny : )

In all- i am very pleased with my experience so far

Training and more Training

In about a week I'll be taking training for both Adobe Illustrator and Indesign.
Of course these are for work however I am hoping that the training will aide me in personal endeavors altering photographs, creating collages, and being more crafty.

I love crafts and creativity just havent had time to do either!

Family Picture Time!

We have been so busy in life lately that there are so many posts to catch up on!

About a week ago we had an amazing photographer take our family photos. She is acutally from Louisville, KY however was in town visiting family and sent out an SOS to photograph families in our area to build up portrait portfolio. I jumped at the chance to get a true feel of our family dynamic through candid photos rather than in a tiny studio doing the "prom pose" with my husband - yet again....

Her website is here:

Here are a few pictures from our session

Some things are just worth reading twice

Daddies dont let girls grow up to be tramps!

Excerpt:

" I saw someone at the airport the other day who really caught my eye.
Her beautiful, long blond hair was braided back a la Bo Derek in the movie "10" (or for the younger set, Christina Aguilera during her "Xtina" phase). Her lips were pink and shiny from the gloss, and her earrings dangled playfully from her lobes.

You can tell she had been vacationing somewhere warm, because you could see her deep tan around her midriff thanks to the halter top and the tight sweatpants that rested just a little low on her waist. The icing on the cake? The word "Juicy" was written on her backside.

Yeah, that 8-year-old girl was something to see alright. ... I hope her parents are proud. Their daughter was the sexiest girl in the terminal, and she's not even in middle school yet."
